Feist announces east coast Australian tour
Feist hasn’t been to Australia in five years, but that kinda makes sense. Before this year’s Pleasure, she hadn’t released a new album in six years, so it’s not as if she’s been keeping us from hearing her new music in the live arena. She’s just been laying low.
But the Canadian singer-songwriter is back and in mighty fine form. Pleasure is a stunning record that shows her deft touch when balancing lush, beautiful sounds with more angular and aggressive rock’n’roll moments.
And now she’s bringing it to Australia.
Feist returns for her first shows since she was here with the Laneway Festival in 2012, bringing her full band for three performances along the east coast of Australia.
That last tour saw her in scintillating form and anyone who caught her either at the festival or accompanying club shows will be excited to get that experience again.
It's been a busy year so far for Feist. Not only has she made this stunning new addition to her solo catalogue, but she also reconnected with her old friends in Broken Social Scene to play a big part in their first album in years, Hug Of Thunder.
On it, Feist sings the title track, which is her first lead vocal performance on a record from the collective in over a decade. And it's pretty damn good, too.
Even if you don’t think you know Feist, we can pretty much guarantee you’re already familiar with her biggest hit:
And if that’s all you know of her music, we strongly suggest digging further. She has six records of fascinating, brilliantly constructed and beautifully performed music just waiting for you to delve into.
Feist plays the following shows this December
Tuesday 28 November – The Tivoli, Brisbane
Friday 1 December – Forum Theatre, Melbourne
Sunday 3 December – Sydney Opera House Concert Hall
