Hear Pearl Jam’s brand new single ‘Can’t Deny Me’ right now

The song is from their forthcoming 11th album

Pearl Jam fans have been patiently waiting for new music for quite a while now. The band’s last album, Lightning Bolt, came out five years ago.

That’s significant, Pearl Jam don’t generally like to keep us waiting. In fact, when their new record eventually drops later this year, it’ll be the longest gap in time between two Pearl Jam records in the band’s 28-year history.

But good things come to those who wait, and today the band has finally shown us what they’ve been up to with their new single ‘Can’t Deny Me’. The track is a little on the mellow side for Pearl Jam and they’re not taking any huge risks, but, like any Pearl Jam song, there’s a bit of grit and spirit in there to get your blood pumping.

Hear it below:

All we can tell you is that the band recorded the song in their home city of Seattle last month, that the music was written by Mike McCready (who also plays the typewriter!) and the lyrics came from Eddie Vedder.

The band co-produced the track with the brilliant Brendan O’Brien, who has worked on more Pearl Jam records than any other producer, so it’s reassuring to know they’re in good hands with this new material.

The band are on the road in South America right now, it’s surely only a matter of time before they make their way back to Australian soil. They were last here to headline the final run of Big Day Out shows back in January of 2014.

Rest assured we’ll keep you up to date with all the happenings in the Pearl Jam camp throughout 2018, which sounds like it’ll be a very busy year for the band and their many, many millions of fans.
