Ben Folds is touring Australia in 2018 and you're choosing the setlist
Acclaimed singer-songwriter and one-time resident of our fine country, Ben Folds, returns to Australia for a tour of theatres and arts festival around the country in February 2018.
As is common for Folds, this is not just a regular tour.
The show will be in two parts. Firstly, he’ll choose a bunch of his favourite songs from across his career. He’s not shy to play the hits either, so expect to hear plenty of the big songs in this first part of the night.
He’ll then turn it over to his dedicated fans, who will quite literally throw requests at the artist, and he will play them.
The audience are encouraged to write their song request on a sheet of paper, fold it into a paper aeroplane and throw it at Folds. He’ll choose them at random and perform the songs that you want to hear.
Given the huge catalogue he has amassed after over 25 years in the game, there are plenty of opportunities to test the Folds’ memory at these shows.
It's your chance to hear some of your lesser-known favourites as you program the set from one of the world’s most revered piano-playing rockstars.
Anyone who has seen Folds perform on his very many Australian tours over the past couple of decades will attest to the energy and electricity he brings, even when performing with nothing more than a piano and his voice.
The Ben Folds Paper Aeroplane tour lands in Australia in February 2018. Full details are below.
