Big Boi added to Golden Plains line up
When Aunty Meredith said there would be more names coming for Golden Plains 2018, we were expecting a few kick arse locals and probably some weird interstellar yoga that would be changing a few lives while most of us were rugged up in our tents trying to get some sleep.
We didn't think she'd be roping in one of hip hop's most vital, game-changing artists of the past couple of decades. But she's full of surprises.
The legendary Big Boi has been added to the Golden Plains line up for 2018 today, and it's a big deal. He's most famously one half of chart-topping hip hop heroes Outkast and renowned as opne of the greatest rappers of the modern era.
As a solo artist, he has given us four album's worth of deep, complex, high-level hip hop, including the astounding Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty in 2010 and, most recently, this year's Shutterbug.
The guy is hip hop royalty and he serves as one hell of a cherry atop an already brilliant line up.
The line up is as follows:
Big Boi, The Avalanches, Grizzly Bear, Kamasi Washington, The Preatures, King Krule, Waterfall Person, The Black Angels, Floating Points (solo, live), Lee Fields & the Expressions, Batpiss, Objekt, Perfume Genius, Kaiit, Rocket Science, Thundercat, Wet Lips, Baker Boy, Adrian Sherwood, Toni Yotzi, Tropical Fuck Storm.
Golden Plains happens from Saturday
