It’s one of the most enriching festivals on the Australian calendar, so we’re very excited to play a part in it again in 2018, and we have heaps of very cool things planned this time around.
Today, we're so excited to announce a very special outside broadcast that will bring some of Bluesfest's finest artists to you, wherever you are over Easter.
Zan Rowe and Sarah Howells will head up a special outside broadcast in conjunction with ABC Gold Coast, which you’ll be able to hear live on Double J, ABC Gold Coast, ABC Sunshine Coast and the ABC listen app on Friday 30 March from 5pm AEDT, and again on ABC Local Radio across the country from 7pm on Sunday 1 April.
If you're at the festival, make sure you're at the Juke Joint at 5pm on Friday 30 March to see some of the festival's absolute finest artists in conversation and performing live.
Check out this line up:
Reggae legend Jimmy Cliff, roots vibe-master Michael Franti, the first ever Double J Australian Artist of the Year Mia Dyson, ARIA winning folk quartet All Our Exes Live In Texas, incredibly diverse New Orleans folk-blues auteur Hurray For The Riff Raff, and the unbelievably magnetic Benny Walker.
If you're wondering who's on the rest of the Bluesfest bill, catch up with all the announcements the festival has made over the past few months.
Our brilliant live music team will also be working around the clock to capture plenty of the best performances from the Bluesfest stages and bring them to you wherever you are on Live at the Wireless on Double J.
And, of course, we’ll have rolling event coverage here at doublej.net.au each morning, so you can keep up with all the highlights from this year’s festival, whether you’re there as a punter or just there in spirit. Grab a coffee, have a read, and share your highlights with us on Facebook and twitter.
Wondering what all the fuss is about? Here are a couple of highlights from the past couple of years.
Bluesfest happens at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm from Thursday 29 March to Monday 2 April. Tickets are on sale now.
