Foo Fighters announce their ninth studio album Concrete and Gold
Foo Fighters have announced their ninth studio album, Concrete and Gold, will be released on Friday 15 September. The announcement comes off the back of the raucous lead single, ‘Run’, which was accompanied by an amazing Dave Grohl-directed video earlier this month.
Grohl has stated to BBC Radio 1 that they wanted to make “the biggest sounding Foo Fighters record ever”, while incorporating pop sensibilities. With this goal in mind, they’ve collaborated with producer Greg Kurstin, who’s renowned for his work with Adele, Sia, and Pink.
Grohl described finished product as “Motorhead’s version of Sgt. Pepper’s… or something like that”.
Concrete and Gold is the first album since 2014’s Sonic Highways, which saw the group travel to eight US cities to write eight songs with direct ties to each city.
Not content with the one announcement, Foo Fighters also unveiled their very own music festival, CAL JAM 17, featuring performances from Queens of the Stone Age, Liam Gallagher, The Kills, and more.
If you’re lucky enough to be in California on Friday 6 October, it’ll be one of the first opportunities to hear tracks from Concrete And Gold live.
Concrete and Gold track list:
- Make It Right
- The Sky Is A Neighborhood
- La Dee Da
- Dirty Water
- Happy Ever After (Zero Hour)
- Sunday Rain
- The Line
- Concrete and Gold
