Golden Plains offer yet another cracking line up for 2018

From Grizzly Bear to The Avalanches, Thundercat to Jen Cloher, Perfume Genius to Rocket Science - it's all gold.

The 2018 Golden Plains line up is here - well, most of it, anyway - and it's great.

No surprise there, it's always great, with some of the most forward-thinking and exciting artists in music today making up the bill year on year.

As per usual, it's hard to really pick too many headline acts as most of the artists are operating on a similar level of fame but their own unique level of artistry.

A few highlights this year include The Avalanches, whose comeback has been just as good as we were hoping it would be, Grizzly Bear, who haven't been in Australia in what seems like forever, and Perfume Genius, whose No Shape album is one of the most beautiful, ambitious and exciting pieces of music we have heard all year.

Thundercat returns to Australia following the release of his best record yet, Drunk. One of his mates will be there too in Kamasi Washington, a man who has recently made a brilliant triple album and an EP that's just as good, and performed with everyone from Kendrick to Ryan Adams.

The brilliant Tropical Fuck Storm will lay waste to the amphitheater next year, as will their equally excellent friends Batpiss. King Krule will prove why he ended up on so many end of year lists in 2017 (trust us, it'll happen) and psych lords The Black Angels could very well make you see things that aren't there.

Jen Cloher made one of this year's best records and she'll receive a hero's welcome at Golden Plains, The Preatures will make you dance and swoon in equal measure and the almighty Rocket Science will simply remind you how damn good Rocket Science were, and still are!

Into soul? You wopn't get much better than Lee Fields & the Expressions.

Into mind-bending electronica? Floating Points will twist your brain in ways you never knew possible.

Into bass? Don't miss Adrian Sherwood. Actually, don't worry - you won't be able to.

The full list of acts is as follows:

The Avalanches, Grizzly Bear, Kamasi Washington, The Preatures, King Krule, Waterfall Person, The Black Angels, Floating Points (solo, live), Lee Fields & the Expressions, Batpiss, Objekt, Perfume Genius, Kaiit, Rocket Science, Thundercat, Wet Lips, Baker Boy, Adrian Sherwood, Toni Yotzi, Tropical Fuck Storm and a few more to come.

Golden Plains happens from Saturday 10 to Monday 12 March. You need to enrol in the ballot if you want to go, you can do that at their website
