Hoodoo Gurus, You Am I, Eskimo Joe and more to play regional Australia festivals
The second annual Under the Southern Stars festival will be twice as big as the inaugural event, organisers have confirmed, with six shows around regional Australia locked in for January 2019.
They’ve put together a very strong line up of some of our favourite rock’n’roll bands from the 80s, 90s and 2000s, ensuring there’s a wide spread of music spread across a few different eras, but with a strong through-line: these are all beloved bands of Australian rock’n’roll.
Leading the bill are the incomparable Hoodoo Gurus, who just keep on killing it on the live stage and show no signs of slowing down. They’ll be joined by recent touring companions You Am I – the band with the best song of the 90s – Perth’s Eskimo Joe, Adelaide rockers The Superjesus, chart-busting indie kids British India, emo titans The Getaway Plan and Melbourne singer-songwriter Scott Darlow.
This absolutely killer line up is hitting coastal areas through January, making the decision to take that summer beach holiday that little bit easier.
Last year’s first instalment saw the festival test the waters in Hastings, Forster and the Gold Coast. This year, the Forster event will move to Port Macquarie, while new shows have been added on the Sunshine Coast, Port Adelaide and Nowra.
Here are the dates:
Saturday 12 January – Hastings Foreshore Reserve
Saturday 19 January – Broadwater Parklands, Gold Coast
Sunday 20 January – Sunshine Coast Stadium
Friday 25 January – Harts Mill, Port Adelaide
Saturday 26 January – Shoalhaven City Turf Club, Nowra
Sunday 27 January – Westport Park, Port Macquarie
And here’s the line up again:
Hoodoo Gurus, You Am I, Eskimo Joe (except Qld), The Superjesus, British India, The Getaway Plan, Scott Darlow.
Tickets are on sale from Friday 20 July.
