LCD Soundsystem and Nick Murphy (fka Chet Faker) team up for massive Australian tour

Primary tabs

Summer just got really, really good.

With their Splendour headlining performance earlier this year, LCD Soundsystem proved they are every bit as good as they were when they broke up in 2011.

Those classic songs ignite the dancefloor as quickly as they did back in the 2000s and the band plays with the same loose energy and sense of fun experimentation as ever. An LCD Soundsystem show is still just about the best place in the world to let loose.

Then, they released american dream, an album that sees James Murphy come to terms with the death of friends and of friendships, the misery that comes with ending relationships and the misery that comes with acknowledging the falsehoods rife in popular music.

With it, the band proved they’re not just as good as ever, they’re actually building on the incredible legacy they had already established.

The band return to Australia this February and bring some very special support along for the ride.

Nick Murphy used to be Chet Faker, but the change in stage name hasn’t affected the quality of his output one iota. The soulful electro crooner remains one of the biggest names in the country, meaning this is one hell of a double bill for any lovers of tasteful electronic music.

LCD Soundsystem and Nick Murphy perform the following shows this February. Tickets are on sale from Thursday 30 November.

Monday 12 February – HBF Stadium, Perth
Thursday 15 February – Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne
Friday 16 February – Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
Saturday 17 February – Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
Wednesday 21 February – Brisbane Riverstage
