Leon Bridges headed back to Australia to headline summer shows
When Leon Bridges was in the country earlier this year, he was previewing his then-upcoming second album Good Thing, showing off his buttery vocals and blinding stage presence at Bluesfest and sold out shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
He must’ve had as much fun as we did, because the Texan singer-songwriter is returning next January playing some of the biggest venues on our shores to date, for what will be his fourth trip Down Under.
Carrying the torch of soul music’s heyday on his debut album Coming Home, Leon Bridges made the decision to break away from the vintage sound that helped him go big.
Released in May, Good Thing is a little sleeker, more dynamic and modernistic than its predecessor. On cuts like ‘Bad Bad News’, ‘Shy’, and ‘Beyond’, the young artist showed his personal and musical growth, giving you a greater sense of who he is without losing the core appeal of his sound.
Those newer songs pop on the live stage, where Bridges shows off his vocal skill but also his keen sense of showmanship. He’ll be joined by special guest Noah Kahan, the folk-flavoured singer behind the Platinum single ‘Hurt Somebody’, with Julia Michaels.
