MGMT & Franz Ferdinand announce dual-headline shows

Primary tabs

They'll take turns in closing the shows.

There are plenty of great bands that have us wanting to make the pilgrimage to the sold out Splendour In The Grass this July. Today, two of them have announced they’re joining forces to play double-headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

Scottish indie rock luminaries Franz Ferdinand have just released their fifth album Always Ascending, and it sees them continue the fantastic form they’ve shown consistently over the past decade and a half.

MGMT remain one of the most thrillingly unpredictable acts in modern music. Their smash hit debut record Oracular Spectacular made them immediate household names a decade ago, but they showed no interest in staying on the path. Each release since then has seen them branch off into new and exciting musical territories.

Both these acts team up for two massive shows in Sydney and Melbourne this July for all those people who either can’t make it to Splendour or just need as much of these two acts in their lives as physically possible.

Important info: while both bands will be playing full sets at these gigs, they’ll be sharing the load as far as closing the show goes. In Melbourne, MGMT will open with Franz Ferdinand closing the show, in Sydney they will switch it up and MGMT will close proceedings.

Also, both shows are all ages. Bring the kids!

Details below, tickets are on sale from Friday morning.
