Primus & Dean Ween Group to tour Australia in April
One of the 90s most innovative and fascinating bands, Primus, return to Australia for a headline tour in April of 2018. The cult-favourite San Franciscan trio, were last in Australia for a stint on the Big Day Out in 2014.
Led by bass playing phenomenon Les Claypool, the band are perennial favourites of Australian audiences, so the chance to see them outside of a festival environment is extra exciting for fans.
Since their last visit, they’ve released Primus & the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble – their re-imagining of the 1971 soundtrack to Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory – and their ninth studio record, The Desaturating Seven.
Joining them on this tour is the Dean Ween Group, the latest vehicle for Ween guitarist Mickey Melchiondo (aka Dean Ween), who formed during Ween’s hiatus a few years back. The band tend to scatter a few Ween tracks into their setlist, as well as songs from Deaner’s recent ‘solo’ album and a few other surprises.
We’ll be honest, it’s gonna be a pretty weird night of music, but we’re confident that it’s also gonna be pretty mind blowing. We recommend you show up prepared for anything.
