Queenscliff Music Festival announces first acts for 2018
The Queenscliff Music Festival has served as a high-quality showcase of diverse music for well over 20 years now and, after the first full announcement of acts for 2018, this year’s event is already looking like one of their strongest yet.
World-beating indie hero Courtney Barnett sits atop the line up for 2018. Her latest record Tell Me How You Really Feel is one of the best records of the year so far and we’re enormously excited to hear its songs live.
Another of the year’s best albums is Djarimirri, the posthumous release from the brilliant Gurrumul. For the Queenscliff Music Festival this year, a range of excellent Australian vocalists will deliver their take on the man’s brilliant songs, backed up by a 16-piece orchestra and some of his closest collaborators.
One of those vocalists is Sarah Blasko, who will also perform her own set at the festival. Other artists on the bill include long-time favourites like Kasey Chambers, The Whitlams, Tripod and Donavon Frankenreiter, as well as recent obsessions like Fraser A Gorman, Oh Pep! and The Little Stevies.
Here’s the full announcement:
