Radio Birdman announce four Australian dates for 2018
Radio Birdman. Just saying the name is enough to get your blood pumping. They’re one of the best rock’n’roll bands this country has ever produced – and we’ve produced a lot of great ones.
They sound as vital and powerful as ever, 44 years on from their formation. And they’re still going at it. Three Birdman originals – frontman Rob Younger, guitarist Deniz Tek and keyboardist Pip Hoyle – continue to keep the flame burning, with live shows across the globe that are as electrifying as ever.
If you’ve never seen this band, you absolutely must. If you have, then you’re probably not reading this as you're already too busy looking for the link to buy tickets.
Birdman return to Australian stages this September with four dates locked in before they head over the Europe for a massive 22 date run.
What’s more, they’re bringing some very special guests along for the ride.
If you’re not already familiar with Spanish garage rock kings Los Chicos, it’s about time you remedied that. The wonderfully shambolic garage acolytes know how to send audiences into a frenzy and will be a perfect fit for these shows.
Add in a couple of local favourites like the incomparable Adalita and Brisbane reprobates HITS, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a big night of raucous, noisy, brilliant rock’n’roll.
Radio Birdman play the following dates. Tickets are on sale from Wednesday 13 June.
Thursday 27 September – Croxton Bandroom, Melbourne (with Adalita, Los Chicos)
Friday 28 September – The Triffid, Brisbane (with HITS, Los Chicos)
Sunday 30 September – The Gov, Adelaide (with Los Chicos, The Sunday Reeds)
Saturday 6 October – Manning Bar, Sydney (with HITS, Los Chicos, DJ Frank)
