Sarah Blasko plays stripped back shows around the country from May.

After decades of performing to adoring audiences around the world, Sarah Blasko has today announced her first ever solo tour.

It’s hard to believe that she’s never set out in stripped back mode before, given she’s proved plenty of times that she’s as captivating on her own as she is with a band, so this is sure to be a huge treat for her fans – old and new.

“It feels like the right time to challenge myself, take the leap and finally do some headline shows on my own,” she said in a statement today. “I’ve slowly been gathering the courage after enjoying a few solo support spots overseas a few years ago.

Blasko’s last record – the excellent Eternal Return – came out in 2015. But she wasn’t in a position to tour the album all that extensively, so for a lot of regions, this will be their first chance to see the artist in close to five years.

By the sounds of things, it’ll be worth the wait.

“I’m hoping to reimagine material from all of my albums and premiere some new songs as well,” she said. “I want this to be a really unique and transformative experience for both myself and the audience.”
