From Sheryl Crow to Holy Holy: here’s the latest Bluesfest line up
We had a feeling we’d hear from Bluesfest again before the year was through, and sure enough they’ve just delivered another stunning list of artists for their 2018 event.
Three massively successful women lead the charge on this latest announcement, with pop hero Kesha, 90s radio rock superstar Sheryl Crow and returning favourite Melissa Etheridge all locked in to make the trip to Tyagarah over Easter next year.
Seu Jorge, most famous for his brilliant David Bowie covers in the 2005 film The Life Aquatic, makes his debut at the festival in 2018, as does Colombian superstar Juanes whose inclusion will make his hefty Australian fanbase very excited indeed.
Icelandic indie king Ásgeir has played a couple of Splendour In The Grass festivals since breaking through a number of years ago, but he brings his beautiful, downbeat music to Bluesfest for the first time in 2018.
There are a few familiar faces making their way back as well, notably UK roots hero Newton Faulkner and East-meets-West bluesman Harry Manx.
And longstanding European/African collective Afro Celt Sound System will slot into the 2018 bill just nicely.
The local component is solid too, with Double J favourites Holy Holy and William Crighton on the bill, as well as fast-rising local Ziggy Alberts and Prince-endorsed guitar gun Harts all a part of this latest announcement.
