Hippie. Bell bottom jeans. Flowers in the hair. The Summer of Love. Well yeah, but there is so much more and Hippie is hardly a movement that stopped in 1968. Like the flow of ideas that came with the counterculture - ecology, health food, freedom of the body and an interest in spirituality - there were also waves sent through the music scene. Ripples felt for years. In fact still going strong. So the music on Hippie will go beyond Summer Of Love clichés. Yes, there will be some psychedelica, Jefferson Airplane will make an appearance, but then so will The Chills, Tame Impala of course, but also Shuggie Otis and a song from the Morning Of The Earth soundtrack. We go wide. We go groovy. For a relaxing yet adventurous final Sunday show in May, for Artist in Residence, Robert Forster.
