He started as a DJ in the burgeoning early '80s Bristol hip hop scene, became the bassist with chart-topping band The Housemartins, and then formed Beats International.
Now he’s joining us for the J Files as we reflect on his stellar career as Fatboy Slim.It’s his work as Fatboy Slim that had the most impact by far. In the late '90s, his music was playing everywhere: on radio, television, at nightclubs, festivals and in the CD players of millions around the world. His 1998 album You've Come a Long Way, Baby was a smash hit, containing anthemic tracks like 'The Rockafeller Skank', 'Praise You' and 'Right Here, Right Now'.
But it didn't end there, 'Star 69', 'Sunset (Bird Of Prey)' and 'Weapon Of Choice', accompanied by an Spike Jonze’s unforgettable film clip featuring a dancing Christopher Walken, all came in its wake.
