This week Double J is taking you back 20 years, straight into the heart of the Kimberley for Stompem Ground.
Stompem Ground festival took place in Broome throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, and was a huge celebration of Aboriginal arts and music. It drew in a huge and jubilant crowd of people from the Kimberley, Pilbara and beyond.
The festival was also brought into the homes of people all around the country via live broadcast on triple j and ABC TV.
Tonight we relive some of the highlights of Stompem Ground 1998. In this fantastic set you’ll hear acts like Midnight Oil, Warumpi Band, Leah Purcell, Neil Murray and Archie Roach & Ruby Hunter.
