Each year BBC Music invites a notable figure from the music industry to deliver the John Peel Memorial Lecture. The series is inspired by the life and career of John Peel, a highly respected and hugely loved BBC Radio broadcaster who passed away in 2004.
This year the BBC invited Iggy Pop behind the podium and the topic he chose to speak on was ‘free music in a capitalist society’.
It’s the first time Iggy had ever delivered a lecture on anything. As expected, it was completely compelling, full of wonderful stories and great insights into the music industry.
